(20110204) 内容简介(英文): Below rape blossoms stands a rooster crows with its beak agape as a hen turns its head with foot raised. The rape blossoms and leaves along with the chickens’ feathers have all been outlined using fine brushwork to which archaic yet elegant colors of vegetable green, white pigment, and cinnabar red have been added. In the upper right corner of the painting is an inscription for “Yubi” (Imperially brushed) and the cipher “Tianxia yiren” (First Person under the Heavens). There is also a seal impression for “Yushu” (Imperially calligraphed). Based on this evidence, the donor of this work, Chang Dai-chien (1899-1983), attributed it to the Northern Song emperor Zhao Ji (Huizong, 1082-1135). The brushwork here, however, is weaker, being far removed from the style associated with Emperor Huizong. This work was bequeathed from the Ta-feng Hall collection of Mr. Chang Dai-chien to the National Palace Museum in 1983.(20110204) 内容简介(英文): Under rapeseed flowers a rooster calls out as a hen turns around huddled. The blossoms and leaves of the rapeseed plant along with the white chicken feathers are all done with finely brushed outlines, to which shades of green, white, and red were added to make the coloring archaic and elegant. In the upper left corner of the work are inscriptions associated with Emperor Huizong, “Yubi” and “Tianxia yiren,” and the seal “Yushu.” This is why the person who donated this work to the National Palace Museum, Mr. Chang Dai-chien, considered it as by Huizong. The use of brush and ink, however, is weaker, making it quite removed from that of Huizong. Huizong, personal name Zhao Ji, was the eleventh son of Emperor Shenzong. Gifted in painting and calligraphy by nature, his calligraphy was strong and untrammeled in the style known as “Slender gold.”
